Item 19 of the Agenda : Financing of Technical Co-operation

Based on my consultations, I believe that in view of the on-going peace process in the Middle East and the Establishment of the Palestinian Authority established pursuant to the Cairo Agreement of 4 May 1994, between the PLO and Israel, it is the wish of the General Conference, as a contribution to the peace process and in line with actions of other organizations in the UN system and consistent with the above mentioned agreement, that the Board through its Technical Assistance Committee, identify technical assistance projects that could be implemented in the territories under the jurisdiction of the Palestinian Authority through appropriate international organizations.
